While I was fishing, my kids found an old military ammo can filled with who knows what and a glass jar we could see. It was buried in silt and sediment. To address some of the comments that were made over and over, 1), We could see a glass jar in it, we knew it didn't have grenades in it!. 2), No, Tetanus doesn't grow in water lol, read a book. 3). The kids got to keep everything they wanted, they didn't want the lead or the old tools but we saved them. 4) We filmed the end of the video twice and my son was not in it the 2nd time. 5) Being their first video the kids wanted me to do all the talking since they were so nervous. Whew, due to the sheer stupidity of a few of the comments we have decided to disable comments on this video. Its a shame but the kids wanted it done. To ...
One of the most enduring and bizarre mysteries of the American Civil War is the final fate of millions of dollars worth of silver from the Confederate treasury. As the Union began its final path to victory, Confederate treasurer George Trenholm liquidated the South’s assets, with some saying that he passed them off to a group called the Knights of the Golden Circle to hide until the South could rise again. When President Jefferson Davis abandoned Richmond in April 1865, his men carried nearly a million dollars in gold, silver and jewels, but when he was captured just six weeks later, Davis had only a few Confederate banknotes. One of the biggest lost investments was 39 kegs of Mexican silver coins weighing more than 9,000 pounds, which disappeared without a trace as the Confederate army ...
Created using the One True Media YouTube App - Simply powerful video creation and editing. Create for free. A little statue that is 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide found on a remote beach in SC. The only indentifying marks on it are the carved out body parts and it's made out of some sort of clay or stone. If you'd like to know more about the circumstances of how we found this statue, please check out our CNNIRreport here: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-647419 And help us in finding out what this statue is and where it came from.
I explored some new territory this week with my Garrett AT Pro. I love hiking through the woods, you just never know what you might stumble across. In this adventure I found 2 very interesting rocks out in the woods. The first rock is probably just an old Property marker, The second may be some type of Native American rock. It has a hole carved in it for some reason, Maybe for Cooking ?. I also discovered another old house site on a hill top, which I think has been metal detected before. The best find of the hunt would have to be the South Carolina button, it's Pre Civil War. Thanks for watching and God Bless! " Have I not Commanded you? Be Strong and Courageous. Do not be Frightened, and do not be Dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go" - Joshua 1:9 " The grass wi...

I'm so spoiled. I rarely think about how fortunate I am to collect the places I do, especially in South Carolina rivers. There is such a diversity of finds - shark teeth, Native American artifacts like points, spears, and tools, mammal fossils, bottles, pipes, and coins. No single find from this dive makes it any better than any others, but it's another page in the chapter that is my collecting journal from this remarkable place.
Engagement of young minds on key regional issues
http://www.adventureswithjim.com hit the chat! I was too tired to finish edits on this yesterday ahahahaahaha. Went out for long, but gorgeous day to check out a new spot to collect sharks teeth. I knew water would be too cold to do much, but was hoping to find bits and pieces on the banks...and that's pretty much what I got...looking forward to spring on this place for sure.
I get a lot of questions from you so I put together a Q & A of the most common questions I get including: Why are there no complete shark fossils? Are we going to have a group hunt? How did we get our names? How do we display our fossils? Will we do a video of our collection? Do all creeks have fossils in them? Why don't we find complete sharks when we hunt? This video is not just my ugly mug, either. There is also plenty of Summerville creek shark tooth collecting!
Magnet fishing. Tommy and I doing some treasure hunting and relic hunting with a magnets. This video explains how to build a magnet for magnet fishing and how to make a very cheap electrolysis bath for removing rust and how to restore the treasures you find magnet fishing like the rusty knife I found.
